Aboriginal Contact Line - 1800 019 123

Victims Services has a dedicated contact line for Aboriginal people who are victims of violent crime in New South Wales and who would like information about counselling and/or compensation.

If you are an Aboriginal person who is a victim of violent crime in New South Wales, you can call our confidential enquiry line. Our Aboriginal Contact Officer will give you information about Victims Services and refer you to the best person to help you. If you already have an application for counselling and/or compensation, you can call to find out how your claim is going.

Victims have rights that are protected under the Charter of Victims Rights (pdf 784Kb). The Charter of Victims Rights is about how government departments should treat you if you are a victim of crime. The Charter obliges government agencies to ensure that a victim is at all times treated with courtesy, compassion and cultural sensitivity, and that their rights and dignity are respected. You can call the Aboriginal Contact Officer if you have any questions about the Charter of Victims Rights.
